Zombie Spidey in 7 inch plastic is one cool looking figure. He looks just like he stepped out of the pages of the Marvel hit mini-series Marvel Zombies. His leg is even removable. [Well actually it comes in his hand and isn’t easily re-attached to the body.] And includes a base with pieces of the doomed Silver Surfer [other bits and pieces of the surfer will show up on the other bases of Marvel Zombies figures].
The figures are designed by Marvel Toyz and sculpted by Dig Deep Entertainment for a Marvel Select release. Decaying Spider-man is the first figure on the menu but not the last. Up next will be Colonel America and the Hulk.
Two minor complaints about this figure that I waited so long for…
First, the base while cool is not functional. Not really. There is no peg, nor hole in the foot for a peg. So there is no real way to keep the figure standing on the base. Which is a bit shame as I know walking by this figure on a daily basis will shake him off the stand and onto the floor many times over.
Secondly, the figure’s packaging is way too big. Thank god I am not a mint on card collector as this would take up far too much room in the house. Even worse is the problem with us openers. All that plastic and cardboard has to go in a landfill and harm the environment. Not to mention the petroleum products involved in making the plastic for this packaging. The figure would have fit in a package about half the size or maybe even less. Marvel should really rethink their Marvel Select packaging.
Finally, daytime TV gives us a full on gay kiss. We already had lesbians kissing several times over on All My Children and ABC also has a gay character on General Hospital, but it was CBS and As The World Turns that has become the first daytime soap to feature a gay kiss.
And what a kiss it was. It wasn’t a simple little quick peck it was a full on “I-want-you” kind of kiss.
The storyline continues so if you missed it you will hopefully have an opportunity for more. So check out As The World Turns for more drama of the Luke and Noah variety and get yourself hooked on Nuke.
AsTheWorldTurns.net has a few archived video clips one of which shows Luke and Noah being caught by Noah’s father in the middle of one of those passionate kisses.
I stumbled on this site [googspy.com] today that supposedly tells you who is using Google Adwords for their sites and what ranking those sites are getting with certain keywords. Funny thing is both my sites show up on theirs saying I paid for the keywords, but I have never paid for a listing in Google. I have used Google Analytics and Adsense but never Adwords. Yet GoogSpy.com insists I am paying for my listings. Where do they get this misleading information from, but they should check it before they make these false claims.
The company that is making these claims is Velocityscape. They make their living [according to their site] from moving data around as a software developer. But if they cannot get their information right how good could their software be? My guess is not very good at all especially when they are making false claims about companies paying for Adwords. They even have the audacity to advertise their paid services from these erroneous pages. Come on people anyone dumb enough to pay for SpyFu.com should just send me their money. I can dig up false info as well as the next guy!
Multipet International has unveiled the Pink Loofa Dog. You know him from those adorable PetSmart commercials where the little guy won’t give up his Bobo and it is replaced with a new one while he is sleeping.
The Pink Loofa Dog has a pink ribbon embroidered on his chest to help make more people aware of the dangers of breast cancer and to help raise money for research. Multipet is donating a portion of the proceeds for each sale to research.
Dogs have become our new heroes in the battle against cancer: from those trained to detect cancer cells to those who join with hundreds to march to raise awareness, to those who choose to play with the new Multipet pink ribbon Loofa Dog.
“The Breast Cancer Research Foundation has been selected as our charity-of-choice to receive ongoing contributions from the sale of the pink Loofa Dog,” says Multipet President Mark Hirschberg.
They decided to make this great dog toy with a cause after hearing the story of survival from one of their employees, Leslie Yellin, the company’s Director of Strategic Accounts, who was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago.
“I was devastated when I was told that I had breast cancer,” says Ms. Yellin. “Having gone through this, and come out a survivor, made me want to reach out to help bring awareness of this dreaded disease that affects 1 woman in 8 in the United States,” adds Yellin.
“We need to be able to spread the word about breast cancer awareness and research in as many venues as possible. We believe that the pink-ribbon Loofa will help to encourage awareness among our key audience…the pet owner,” she adds.
These toys can be hard to find even though they are supposed to be carried by national chains, but don’t worry you can get them now at DogToys.com.
