Overstock.com has a great contest. They are currently running the “All I want for Christmas Giveaway”. Between December 3rd and the 7th you can win gifts for yourself and five of your friends from the fine folks at Overstock.com.
Since my accident Christmas isn’t going to be full of presents this year. That’s for sure. This contest lets you pick the one item you would really love to have from their website each day for five days. Each day you get a chance to win the gift you chose for that day. But that’s not all. At the end of those five days you get a final chance to win all five gifts! It gets better too. If you win and have sent invitations to the contest to five friends they win too. Winning this contest would make my Xmas a lot more cheery. I net it would yours too.
I would love an LG LCD TV. We go to a local sports bar to watch the games on Sundays and they have these all over the place and they are just great. That would be my first choice if I could have anything from the whole store. My next choices would be accessories to go with it like the Toshiba HD-A20 high definition DVD player, the Canon HV20 HDV Camcorder, Sony VAIO N395E/B Notebook, Xbox 360 Premium Bundle with an extra Headset and finally something to watch on it — The X-Files Ultimate DVD Collection.
Talk about a Christmas wish list. There is nothing on there that I could afford but I certainly would enjoy winning them. I will be sending five really good friends a chance to win too, because if I win they win too. Sweet deal.
There are lots of sites out there to help you with site submissions. Most will cost you but a lot of them are free. Do a simple google search to weed them out.
I just stumbled on StartRanking.com which is a slightly different model. It asks for a text link instead of payment. Believe you me the best way to get a good google rank is to get a lot of text links back to your site or blog. I am willing to link to those who link to me so send me your requests or write a good comment on one of my topics and I will approve it and your site link too.
If it is not the guy who decided to almost take my life on Sunday or his insurance company or my insurance company it is everyone else!
Most recently it is PayPerPost. Which quite honestly is normally a great place to work with get some money from your blogs. Which quite frankly thanks to that asshole on Sunday I am in desperate need of!
So I go to PPP to try and find some things to write about and get a few extra dollars to cover some of these bills which are adding up after three days in the hospital and who knows how long out of work and they reject the post without even completely reviewing it!
I always choose things I want to write about and jumped on the Sweeny Todd offer ASAP. I had all my content but had to edit it and change a few things so I put all the required info in the post first and added the trailer before adjusting and adding my personal content.
Normally, it takes them days to even look at a post, but for some reason on the day when it is taking me longer to do anything is the day they are on top of me. I am sorry that the medications I am on for the six broken ribs I have makes me a little slower than normal!
Most days I would be proud to post this badge but not today.
UPDATE: Now they are telling me I did not add all the stupid little code they require. I know I did and posted it exactly like they requested. I double checked and it is all there as requested. Links, codes, images, everything! They need to take a better look at that post!
What better way to see the great city of Philadelphia than via a free tour? You can do it. All you need to do is sign up for the Trusted Tours and Attractions free newsletter and by doing so you get a chance to win a free sightseeing tour from the city of your choice. You could win four tickets to the sightseeing tours of your choice. Don’t know if you can get a ticket to four different tours or if you must take four tickets to the same tour.
Philadelphia is a great city full of history and culture. Heck, just watch the film National Treasure and it will make you want to travel to the city to see all the cool clues in the film. Okay, so that was all fiction but the history is real and you will be immersed in it. Visit the liberty bell, Betsy Ross’ House and so much more.
So whether you live in or around this fine town or are simply visiting I suggest you head to TrustedTours.com a take a chance on what they have to offer. And quite possibly win one of their tours. You will be able to choose from a boat tour, trolley tour or even a carriage tour.
Philadelphia is not your only choice either. You have many cities to choose from like Savannah, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco just to name a few.
I noticed that Wal-mart was having several Black Friday sales. I have no intention of ever going into the Elverson, PA Walmart again, but I was curious about whether they had the same sales the company was advertising all over the place.
I really doubt it. They are continuing to sell their new release DVDs at $16.88 instead of the $14.96 all the area Wal-marts have the films at. But in any case they are at least offer the ignorant people in the area a slight discount. And $16.88 is better than the full price of $19.96, no?
The only sale I was even interested in was for tomorrow. Saturday they are advertising 80 gig Playstation 3s for only $499. I do not have confirmation on this but an employee tells me that Elevrson will not have any of the PS3s in stock for the sale. Therefore they do not have to honor the national sale.
Nowhere in Wally worlds advertisements does it say pricing varies or in participating stores only, like when Burger King runs an ad.
I think a big corporation should be uniform throughout all their stores. Don’t you? Therefore I have decided to send a small message. Any DVD I still have that has not been open and was purchased at Wal-mart is going back. I have already returned my Avatar the Last Airbender DVD and will be returning Spider-man 3 as well. So if you still have some sitting around, help me make a stand and return it and let them know why when you do. Thanks.

I first stumbled on PayPerPost about six months ago. At the time I had a new blog without a lot of posts. But I felt payperpost was a great opportunity not just to make money but also to help my blog grow so I worked really hard to get accepted into their program.
It wasn’t easy at first to get their approval, but it was worth all that effort I had to put into my blog to get their approval. All the hoops I jumped through just let me know they were in fact the real deal that I would get quality topics and not have to worry about getting paid for my posts either.
What really drew me to PayPerPost was the fact that you, the writer, get to choose your own writing opportunities unlike some of their competition that tell you what to write. Plus they really want you to succeed. They have a blog of their own that helps you with updates and tips on how PayPerPost works.
I have not checked it out, but they also have a message board with a very helpful community, which I hope to join very soon. As my blog grows I know my opportunities with PPP will grow as well. I can’t say that the money does appeal to me as well, because it certainly does. I hope to make enough to pay for the upkeep of my website after that who knows.
If you like to write and want to make a little money from your writing check out PayPerPost.com you won’t be disappointed. I wasn’t.
This is part two of my article on making money from your blog or website. In the first part we focused on writing. And not everyone likes to write or wants to write. For these people their are alternatives to the standard blog.
You can try your hand at video blogs. Tape yourself and your friends [get their permission to post it first though] talking about your favorite shows, movies, books, games, toys…whatever. Then upload these to YouTube.com. Once you have the video ready simply post that in your blog and your done. But if you want to make some money for your efforts add affiliate links to the related items in that same post.
Another creative way of making money is to sign up for CafePress.com and create and sell items from your designs right from your site. So dig out those great photos from your trip and make a calendar then offer it to the world via your blog which talks all about that trip. The possibilities are endless.
People don’t realize they can make money [or at least try] with their personal sites and blogs.
First step is to sign up for quality affiliate programs with companies like Commission Junction, but don’t stop there you’ll find almost any store has an affiliate program if you look hard enough. But CJ.com is a great place to start and your few pennies from different vendors start to add up and you will actually see check sooner than individually paid out programs.
Once you have joined get to writing on that site or posting on that blog about what interests you or do product reviews. Then simply combine the two with the links from the affiliate program. Once that is done. Sit back and watch the click thrus and cash come in. [WARNING: This is a very simplified look at making money from affiliate programs and your results will vary from merchant to merchant and program to program.]
Another way of making cash off those blogs are companies that offer payment for linking in a post on your blog. There are quite a few of them cropping up these days and some of the best will payout big money for your well written articles. Top of the heap is PayPerPost. They are hard to get accepted into but once you are you can pick and choose the writting opportunities that are right for you. The better your blog the better the opportunities for you to make money on them.
Another way to make money from your writing abilities is to sign up for Helium. This is a writing community were you post your articles and reap the benefits of their advertising. This is not a new model [as I was part of something like this way back in the dark ages [1998] called The Vine], but a nice one.
So your writing skills are not up to the level you would like them to be? Or you just hate writing because it reminds you too much of being in school? No worries you have other outlets for your creativity and we will discuss them at length in another post.
