I know I am a day late…but better late than never (and it almost felt like I would never feel like writing on my blog again…but thanks to some meds, my friends, my cat and whoring myself out with sponsored posts I am back and I want stuff!)
I have been telling FatHead for years that they needed to make Star Trek wall stickers. I even contacted the cardboard people to see if they were going to do them (they let their license go a bout two years ago and I bet they are kicking themselves now). Roommates has picked up the slack and their stuff looks good and costs less than FatHeads anyway.
I may wind up settling for the giant wall appliques. I could handle having just a Kirk or Spock standing next to my PC. But like I always asked when I was bothering the other companies, please bring us some big ships for our walls and ceilings!
Just found this site - youneek.com - where you can customize posters and cards. The best part for me is the Star Trek posters. I gots to go make me some!
I saw these and thought I have to have those. These are just TOO funny. Little Zombie pets for your pockets. Set includes a zombie cat, zombie dog, zombie rabbit, zombie bird and zombie fish. I think they should do even more zombie animals. I would like to see a zombie farm set with a zombie horse, cow, sheep, goat, chicken etc.
So go ahead and run out and buy the Zombie Pet Shoppe figures before I do.
Last month (Feb 4th) Facebook changed their terms of service to state that users content would be stored, not unlike email, and, here’s the kicker, that Facebook had rights to your content. So by uploading images, videos, stories etc you were giving Facebook rights to use your content in any way they saw fit.
If I upload something for my friends (or even open to the public) I should have all rights and controls over that content. Facebook should have to come to me to use or profit from what I post before they use it.
I am not the only one that feels this way. Facebook has backed up their TOS to an older version and is now opening it up to discussion and voting (kind of) on Facebook via two groups you can join and post your thoughts about the new TOS. This forum is only open until March 29th so go give them a piece of your mind.
Boy would I love one of these for my collection, but at around two grand I cannot foresee ever having one. Noting in my Star Trek collection has cost me more than $200. I just can’t bring myself to spend that kind of money on a collectible. (funny though I spent that on my other hobby, photography, when I bought my first digital SLR)
I will just have to continue under the impression that it is really uncomfortable (most likely not), would NEVER make me feel like a starship captain (fat chance on that, it would be SO COOL) and there is no where I could fit it in the house (duh, throw out the sofa!) Okay, so I have convinced myself (NOT) that I don’t want or need this splendid, life-sized, original series Captain’s chair to act out my Captain Kirk fantasies.
Besides if I had this where would I get the green alien girls from?
Since these are limited and I don’t seem to be able to get me one, why not head over to EE and pre-order a Captain’s Chair for yourself (and make me EXTREMELY jealous in the process)?
So often my “Want It” posts are for things that are completely out of reach for me, but today’s post is something I will be getting.
After viewing Monday’s Big Bang Theory I had to go on a search for the t-shirt that Sheldon was wearing. My search brought me to a cool website (Chop Shop) with a similar shirt, but instead of Godzilla the shirt I came across this shirt was covered in Robots (only about half of which I can name…I hope the shirt comes with a list of who they are).
But since I could not find the Japanese monster shirt I had seen and this shirt was similar I thought I would ask, so I shot off a quick email. I thought I would hear back in a few days (if at all). To my surprise I got an email back in about an hour and they told me who did the shirt Sheldon was wearing even though it was not available through them. How cool is that?!
So I will definitely be back for this awesome robot tee!
Remember the Fisher Space pen and how cool it was to be able to write anywhere even upside down? I found another pen that is just as cool, maybe even cooler. (If that’s possible since the Fisher Space pen did do a licensed Star Trek pen back in the day, I have one in my collection.) This new pen I am talking about is the INKA pen.
The Inka pen is from those innovative guys over at Nile Ize and it is pretty sweet. Like the space pen it writes anywhere — upside down, under water and in extreme temperatures. So you can take it with you anywhere you go even planet Vulcan.
It has a multifunction design. The closed pen is watertight and can be used as a key chain or attach it to your gear. There’s a PDA stylus too so you can quickly tap out commands on your tricorder or smart phone (which ever one you happen to have). Take the key ring off and reassemble your Inka in to a full size writing instrument, which by the way is pretty smart looking, with its stainless steel and carbon fiber components. This would make a great gift for anyone from all out geek to a sports nut. For more info check out writeanywhere.com or just head on over to ThinkGeek.com to pick up yours.
I want to wake up from this nightmare and still have my mom. I know she is in a better place but I miss her terribly. There is just so much I did not get to tell her, or do with her, or learn from her.
I miss her.
I will return to my normal petty, self indulgent I Want It Wednesday posts next week.
This is one of the coolest plush toys since the Black Knight from Monty Python’s Holy Grail (which is also available at ThinkGeek). These clever geeks over at ThinkGeek made these super cuddly, scarey, creepy little Zombies that you can rip to shreds.
But the best part about this product might just be their marketing and the demo video they made. Check it out below it is worth it. (I have to say the folks over there are just crazy — looks like a place I would like to work — pretty sure I would fit right in with the wackos.)
So here is another I Want It Wednesday post that just might wind up being something I do eventyally get.
