The new Microsoft game Mass Effect has been banned in Singapore due to graphic content.
What is that graphic content you might ask? Well, two women kissing. The game has a scene in which a human woman is kissing and caressing an alien woman. Singapore’s Media Development Authority reportedly banned it.
Singapore has a ban on sex between men, which was recently upheld by their parliament and their Prime Minister said the city-state should keeps its values and not allow rights to homosexuals. [Pigs!]
So far Singapore is the only closed-minded country to ban the game.
Guess I am going to have to get someone to buy me an XBOX 360 and a copy of this game. Has anyone posted a video of this scene on YouTube yet.

I just got my two versions of the Wrath of Khan Enterprise ships from Diamond Select Toys. Of the two the standard version is my favorite. When I got it out of the shipping box and pushed the button and heard, “KHAN!” I was hooked. I have been known to shout out KHAN! Out of the blue on many occasions. My friend walked by as I was playing with it and asked me if this was my favorite toy now. I honestly think it might be and I have not even taken it out of its display box yet.
Right after I got this way cool ship I received my Battle Damaged version from New Force Comics. Again, I have not removed it from the display box yet so I am not exactly sure how I feel about it, but from the top of the ship I do not se too much battle damage on this exclusive version.

I have a huge Star Trek collection. I display the majority of it loose on shelves. This can be a huge problem when it comes to dusting to the toys, models and other collectibles. I really need a good solution to protect and better display my stuff.
That’s where Potomac Display company comes in handy. They make plastic and acrylic display cases. They’ll even do custom display cases if I cannot find something to fit my exact needs, but they carry so much I doubt I will need to do a custom case.
Since my action figures are mostly loose I am looking at their rectangular table for counter displays. They look perfect for raising the back row of figures for better viewing.
I will definitely be getting a bunch of ornament hangers for all those Hallmark ornaments I have sitting around waiting for a Christmas tree.

I love good homemade food but I rarely cook and almost never bake. So last year when my family was putting together family cookbook / scrapbook I was having a really bad time coming up with a recipe to put on my page. We were each to create a page with our favorite recipe, photo and memories. Memories I have plenty of, photos a few and recipes next to none. Now, a year later, I think I have found that new family recipe to hand down. The only time I bake is when we make holiday cookies.
I made a Tres Leches or three milk cake for a party my niece was having and it was a hit. So I made one for my sister’s birthday the next week and both my nieces requested one for their birthdays too. Only one more to go on the request list at this point.
You might ask how did I come by a Mexican Cake recipe when I don’t bake nor am I Mexican. A girl I work with brought a piece in for me to try and I loved it. Normally, I am not a fan of cakes. When I do eat cake I soak it in milk before eating it so this sounded really good to me and it was.
It is very easy to make and you can find about 20 variations on the recipe by searching the web.
1 Box Moist Yellow Cake Mix [add an extra egg to the instructions]
1 Can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 Can Evaporated Milk
1 Pint Heavy Whipping Cream
½ tsp Vanilla
Follow the cake mix instructions but add an extra egg to the mix. [If you have a stand alone mixer like the Hamilton Beach® Eclectrics® All-Metal Stand Mixer mixing the cake is a snap, especially if you choose a scratch recipe]. Once you bake the cake allow it to cool for 5-10 minutes. Then in a bowl mix the three milks and the vanilla. You want to poke holes with a fork throughout the cake about ¼ inch apart. Then pour the milk mixture over the cake. Cover. Allow to soak in refrigerator overnight. The next day ice the cake with whipped topping or a light icing, nothing too sweet. Decorate with fresh fruit, my choice is raspberries.
Now this has me thinking of those holiday cookies and how much I hate using our old mixer. I always make a mess with it. Making the Tres Leches was no exception to that rule either. Oh, how I wish Santa could drop by early with a Hamilton Beach® Stand Mixer so we could mix up all those cookies with ease.
Heck, if I had a good Hamilton Beach® Mixer I might actually bake more often with everything it can do.
So, Santa see what you can do about bringing me a Eclectrics® Mixer this year.

There’s a new Stephen King film coming out, The Mist. It is about this guy and his kid who get trapped inside a store with other members of the town by a really bad fog. And there’s something in the mist that is picking them off one by one.
I saw the trailer the other night it looks really creepy. I hate fog. Not knowing what could be just a few feet away from you is really scary. I was stuck in traffic in a bad fog once. The traffic could not move faster than a couple miles per hour. When you let your imagination run away with you all sorts of things start crawling out of that mist. Guess that’s where great writers like Stephen King make their mark. While I was sitting there I had rapists and murders coming out of nowhere and jumping in the car with me. I could not wait to get out of there. Being in the car by myself at least I did have to deal with others who I thought were my friends like the guy in The Mist.
So if you want to scare yourself silly check out the trailer for the new film The Mist by Stephen King then drive through a thick fog late at night and wonder what’s out there with you.
In theaters November 21st.

Finally, FOX has set a premiere date for The Sarah Connor Chronicles. It will premiere on January 14th, 2008. I have been jonesing for this since I first heard about it. The have since changed the name to include TERMINATOR [unlike Paramount when they first brought us Enterprise. What were they thinking leaving out the draw of Star Trek? Same thing here.]
The show is now called TERMINATOR: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. It picks up sometime after Terminator 2 Judgment Day. So we get to see some Terminators getting there butts kicked. It stars Lena Headey as Sarah and Thomas Dekker as John. You have seen her in 300 and him in Heroes. So put 1/14/08 on your calendar. I just hate that it is taking so dang long to finally see this show.

Another great Denny Crane quote tonight. And I quote…
“Hope springs a kernel . . . It’s an old farmer’s saying.”
Mad Cow you know. I just love Boston Legal. It is a great show.

Christmas time is coming and now is the time for getting all your gifts. If you are like me your list is comprised mostly of electronic items. Well, electronics require power and usually more power than the manufacturer gives us.
Laptops are a number one gift but most only come with a two-hour battery. Not enough battery life if you are out and about. Add more value to that shiny, new gift you’ll be giving.
Another little holiday power tip for you. Pull out those old camcorders now and dust them off. Now is the time to test them out and get new batteries for them so you don’t miss any of those precious memories this year.
If you have a PDA, camcorder, laptop, MP3, portable DVD player or just about any other high tech gadget out there you’ll want to check out AllBatts.com. I just discovered them and have several batteries on my Xmas list now too. If anyone is listening I need both a laptop battery and a new battery for my PDA.
AllBatts.com is a great source for Laptop Batteries, Camcorder Batteries, PDA Batteries, really just about any battery.

I just love getting free stuff in the mail. I had signed up for the Diamond Select Toys newsletter quite a while ago and haven’t bought from them in about a year, but this morning I got a little package in the mail from them.
It contained two single minimates. One was from their The Hunt 2007 [it is a dud in black tee, shorts and black chucks…like mine] and the other was a Battlestar Galactica cylon from the new series, which will fit in just nicely with my mini BSG collection. He can hang out with the other cylons from a different era.
Thanks DST for the free goodies. They also sent along a coupon code for a future order too. I’ll have to see if they have something in stock that I want to save 10% on and that I don’t already have.

I first stumbled on PayPerPost about six months ago. At the time I had a new blog without a lot of posts. But I felt payperpost was a great opportunity not just to make money but also to help my blog grow so I worked really hard to get accepted into their program.
It wasn’t easy at first to get their approval, but it was worth all that effort I had to put into my blog to get their approval. All the hoops I jumped through just let me know they were in fact the real deal that I would get quality topics and not have to worry about getting paid for my posts either.
What really drew me to PayPerPost was the fact that you, the writer, get to choose your own writing opportunities unlike some of their competition that tell you what to write. Plus they really want you to succeed. They have a blog of their own that helps you with updates and tips on how PayPerPost works.
I have not checked it out, but they also have a message board with a very helpful community, which I hope to join very soon. As my blog grows I know my opportunities with PPP will grow as well. I can’t say that the money does appeal to me as well, because it certainly does. I hope to make enough to pay for the upkeep of my website after that who knows.
If you like to write and want to make a little money from your writing check out PayPerPost.com you won’t be disappointed. I wasn’t.

I have had a few controversial bumper stickers in my time which have caused me to have me and my car attacked, both physically and verbally.
Nuke the Gay Whales for Jesus. Well that one is just funny no matter who you are, unless of course you are a right wing zealot or overly sensitive activist.
Nuke the Whales and Pave the Beaches. I have a thing about sand I hate it. This was a big joke, which is not so funny in some circles I suppose.
Against Abortion – Don’t Have One! This one got my car egged, pamphlets on abortion left on my windows and me yelled at as I got into my car on many occasions. I am pro choice, but that choice does not have to be to have the abortion. People can’t seem to grasp that concept can they?
Assimilation is Not A Family Value. The rainbow lettering should give some of that away while the obvious Star Trek Borg reference slaps you in the face. I stood my ground while a redneck got in my personal space pounding on my car asking what this meant. Thank goddess he took my “it’s a Star Trek thing you wouldn’t understand” answer and left me alone.
