Mom always told me that people that had diabetes like her were shaped like her with thin legs and rounder in the middle. Turns out she might actually be right.
Scientists are now saying that the fat found around the hips and thighs may actually protect you against getting the disease. So it turns out a big bottom just might be good for you. Hey, my fat ass just might save my life.
According to the Rueter’s article, “Researchers have known for some time that fat that collects in the abdomen — known as visceral fat — can raise a person’s risk of diabetes and heart disease, while people with pear-shaped bodies, with fat deposits in the buttocks and hips, are less prone to these disorders.” So I guess she was right.
They have found that transplanting subcutaneous fat from those areas to the stomach can help improve a person’s sensitivity to insulin.

The bigger the cushion, the sweeter the pushin
That’s what I said.
The looser the waistband, the deeper the quicksand
Or so I have read.
My baby fits me like a flesh tuxedo.
I love to sink her with my pink torpedo.
Big bottom
Big bottom
Talk about bum cakes,
My gal’s got ‘em.
Big bottom,
Drive me out of my mind.
How can I leave this behind?
I saw her on monday, twas my lucky bun day
You know what I mean.
I love her each weekday, each velvety cheekday
You know what I mean.
My love gun’s loaded and she’s in my sights
Big game’s waiting there inside her tights
Big bottom
Big bottom
Talk about mud flaps
My gal’s got ‘em.
Big bottom
Drive me out of my mind.
How can I leave this behind?
Are you looking for the convenience and privacy of an online pharmacy for your prescription medications? You are not alone. Many people are turning to the internet to fill prescriptions for many conditions like erectile dysfunction (ED), genital herpes, birth control, and acne medications as these can be embarrassing conditions, which need treatment and for some they just cannot face the pharmacists. Another reason to use an online pharmacy for your prescription drugs is for the convenience. Who likes driving all the way to the pharmacy only to have to wait around for the prescription to be filled? Not me.
At eDrugstore.MD your online prescriptions filled privately and securely. In most cases you’ll even get your prescriptions cheaper than from your local drugstore. If, like me, you are all about the savings then you like this; new customers can play one of their online games for a chance to get $20 off their medications and if that wasn’t enough you can save even more with their refill discount. Every time you refill a prescription with them you’ll $20 off the retail price.
So if you are looking for a safe secure place to buy your medications you may want to further research eDrugstore.MD. I think you’ll find a safe, secure place to buy your drugs at a reduced price over a standard pharmacy.
It looks like CBS is making sure that we all remember Star Trek. Tonight’s CSI had a fun conversation between Hodges and Simms discussing a case with green blood and the agent that caused it which turns into a talk about Vulcan blood and Mr. Spock.
Liz Vassey who plays CSI Wendy Simms just happens to have a Star Trek connection she appeared in an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation — Conundrum — thanks Memory Alpha. Someone should really make a six degrees of separation site for Star Trek in general. It would be kind of cool to type in an actor and see how many hops until they are connected to something Trek. Or maybe it’s just me.
Any who here is their conversation.
Simms: What do you think turned it green?
Hodges: I suspect it might be sulfur.
Simms: Sulfur is a naturally occurring component in the blood.
Hodges: But in massive doses it tends to turn the blood a blackish avocado green. When the sulfur atom joins the hemoglobin molecule red blood turns green. Which is why First Officer Spock’s blood is green in Star Trek.
Simms: No it’s not.
Hodges: Ah, yes it is. Trust me I’m an expert.
Simms: Apparently not. Otherwise you would surely know that the oxidizing agent in Vulcan blood is copper. And that is why his blood is green. Or maybe that and the fact that he had a Vulcan father since his mother is actually human. And further more he was promoted to Captain just prior to Star Trek 2 and then he retired as civilian ambassador.
Hodges: You’re like a geeky, nerdy guy trapped in a woman’s body.
Simms: So are you.
Hodges: As I was saying here on Earth sulfur containing compounds could turn otherwise normal blood green.
Hodges: As I suspected.
Simms: Share.
Hodges: She wasn’t Vulcan.
Nice to see them showing women can be just as into Star Trek as guys.
I don’t care who you vote for this is not a political debate here. I just think every person in PA of voting age needs to get out there and make their voices known.
If you are not a registered voter shame on you.
I stopped in and gave them my two cents worth before heading to work. I couldn’t believe it that I was the only one in there voting! And I was only number 25 too!
Just wondering, do you think the placement on the ballet has any influence on the folks who go to vote and are still undecided? I saw the Democrats had Obama over Hillary and Ron Paul was first on the ballet for the Republicans. So if you go to do your civic duty and are not sure who you are voting for until you get in there would that placement make a difference to you?
I know it has got to be me. I know I am a bit of a bitch most of the time, but come on. I called my doctor’s office again for an easy task. One they have performed on many occasions. I just needed a new referal for my allergy doctors so my insurance would continue to pay for it.
Well the woman that picked up the phone was extremely rude [like the other day when I called for an appointment]. I swear there is only one nice person in that entire office. From now on when I call in I am automatically just going to ask for her. I don’t know what I will do if she ever leaves or retires. Guess I will look for a new doctors office.
Instead of the normal easy phone call I am given the third degree. Okay it was not the third degree but I was asked for all this information [provider id, fax number, my insurance number] that I am not normally asked for. In fact it is all stuff they should have in my file after two years of them doing this for me. When I finally had enough and asked for the nice nurse by name there was a long pause and Nasty McGee came back on the phone and said she had everything she needed in my file [duh] and would fax it to them for me. Couldn’t she just have done that in the first place?
But as I have said earlier it must be me. Even over the phone they see how easy it is to piss me off and try their hardest. I thought I had read some where that more and more hospitals and doctors offices were taking the whole customer service values to heart. Guess it hasn’t reached this little rinky dink office yet. When it does I know a few nurses who need some seminars.
Two days ago a young girl in our neighborhood died in a car accident. She was only 24. Only a few years older than my niece. While I may not have personally known her I do remember hearing about her from my friend who was her art teacher in middle school and about how talented and nice she was. Any time a life is taken it is sad, but when one has barely had time to start their life it is all the sadder.
Liz was a talented artist and quite the poet. You can read her poems at her MySpace page as long as they keep it up and as a memorial to her I will be posting her work on whataslacker.com. I just don’t think it should be lost. The photo to the right is one of her pieces. You can see it as well as other fine artists on the Berks Humane Society’s Art of Arf’s Sake website.
A Reading woman was killed Saturday morning when she lost control of her car on Route 30 in Hellam Township.
Elizabeth Martelli was westbound on Route 30 when she drove off the road between 6 and 7 a.m. and flipped into a cornfield about a mile east of the Hellam exit, York County Deputy Coroner Mary Breighner said.
The 24-year-old was ejected from the car and died from multiple blunt force trauma, Breighner said.
Toxicology tests - which are mandatory in all highway deaths - may take several weeks to be completed, Breighner said.
Well, today is my birthday and while I wasn’t planning on celebrating the numbers of them any more I do like to spend time with my family and friends on my b-day. Usually my family will gather for a birthday dinner and it is just great to be able to spend time with them. This year, however, is not so good. This month in general just isn’t a good month to be related to me in any form.
My mom is seriously ill and has been hospitalized. I am a HUGE mommy’s baby and I am taking this pretty hard. My mom has been through so much with her health and she has had a good life, but I am not ready to see her go. Last week when she was admitted she was very near death’s door. In fact her blood pressure was only 40 over 20 when she went into the emergency room.
For the past month or two my niece has been in and out of the emergency rooms with severe migraines. The hospitals really cannot do anything for her. They give her morphine or some other narcotic and then the rebound headaches are three times as bad as the original ones. These are not just regular headaches mind you. Along with all the pain she loses her sight, throws up and gets hives form head to toe. She will be spending most of last week and this week at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia to see what can be done for her.
Two days ago my Mom’s oldest sister had a stroke and is in the hospital too. She is doing okay, but a stroke in any shape or form is scary.
I also just found out my one uncle has a very advanced prostate cancer although we do not know the full extent of his illness it does not appear very hopeful. My mother-in-law’s son just had surgery this past month for prostate cancer and they feel they were able to get it all during the surgery. His prognosis is good, unlike my uncle’s. I know you guys don’t like to think about this, but don’t leave your health to chance go get regular check ups.
So what did I do for my birthday? It started out with a dentist appointment [this was already planned so I cannot blame it for my so-so b-day]. From there I went from hospital to hospital visiting all the people I love who are sick. Not the most festive way to spend the day, but I was glad to see that everyone was feeling a bit better and things were looking up for them. I’ll have another birthday next year and while I act like a little kid must of the time I am an adult and can handle it when a birthday just pushed aside. Family does come first you know. I was just glad I had the day off so I could go visiting.
But aren’t you glad not to be related to me right about now?

Here is an explanation as to what these pillow covers are in Japan from JList.com: Dakimakura are ‘hugging pillows’ or ‘hug pillows’ (sometimes referred to as a ‘love pillow’ or ‘Dutch wife’, although this may be referring to a more adult-type item) illustrated with anime characters or real-life film stars, and a distinctively otaku item. This is a high quality printed ‘hug pillow’ cover with a zipper, designed for a long body pillow available from many sources. While many fans hang their dakimakura covers on their walls or use them as curtains, customers who want to have the full-size hug pillow experience have several options. First, you can buy pillow stuffing material from any home center and stuff the pillow yourself. Also, pre-made body pillows may be available in stores near you . These pillows can also be found online … They recommend the Bodymate Body Pillow from Bed, Bath and Beyond
Today on the Ellen show she was showing some interesting things from Japan. First she showed the boyfriend pillow and I thought boy that looks familiar. Then she showed the girlfriend pillow and I knew where I saw it. You can get these from Jlist.com.
They have a huge collection of pop culture items from Japan for Adults to Kids, just make sure you don’t get the two mixed up if you know what I mean.
The funniest thing about the pillows is Ellen tried out the boyfriend pillow but refused to go near the girlfriend pillow. Guess she did not want her audience getting any ideas about her
