Growing up we did not have the game Kerplunk. Our cousin, Carla, did. So it was a fun thing we got to play whenever we went over to our Aunt’s house as kids.
I remember going up to her room and pulling out the game, putting it together and playing it (and probably losing – I always lost no matter what games we played growing up).
Kerplunk has a very distinct sound when those marbles come crashing out. (And they never remained contained in that little tray at the bottom, so some of the fun was tracking down all marbles after they came crashing down. Kerplunk!)
A little while back I spotted a Toy Story version of the game at Target and thought I’d be back to get it. Well when I went back I could not find it any longer.
Then I found it at Toys R Us, but who to play this “kids” game with?
A bunch of adults that’s who!
And you want to know something? I am pretty sure we all had a bit of fun playing it too!
Order Disney Pixar Toy Story Ker Plunk! Game from Entertainment Earth!

So I guess it is true that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, sort of. Last Fall the Star Trek Experience, which I NEVER got to go to, closed its doors. Bummer not only for me but tons of Trekkies every where.
Well good news all you geeks out there Star Trek The Experience is coming back to Los Vegas (or maybe it never left). So now I can finally get my sorry butt out to the desert and head to this Trek mecca (before it disappears again).
Guess while I am out there I should head off to Roswell too. As these are both on my big TO DO LIST I keep talking about.

I have had this bumper sticker on my car for more than two years, maybe even three by now and every time my mom sees it she asks me what it means. So I explain about the borg and assimilation etcetera and hope that will be the end of it (we do not speak of the other meaning in my family, but I am sure other “family” members get it). I am getting a little tired of saying, “it’s a borg thing, you wouldn’t understand” to people.
This has even gotten me in a little bit of hot water with the local rednecks too. So now that it is faded I think I will replace it with another Star Trek inspired bumper sticker. Not exactly sure which one. Maybe I will get the Boldly Going Nowhere one or one of the red shirt society ones. I’ll let you know what I decide (and I am up for suggestions too).

I have always loved looking up at the night sky. Funny thing is I have never anything better than binoculars to view the heavenly bodies with. The night sky is one of the things I miss most since I have moved out of the country and into the city. Now I barely get to see a single star let alone a sky full. There is just too much light pollution here.
I would love a really good telescope. This one has an onboard computer to show you where the stars are and it will even hook up to a PC so you can create your own sky tour. Heck this thing could even teach a slacker like me astronomy. And boy could I spot the UFOs with this!
Available at Hammacher Schlemmer.

It is getting to be that time again when ones thoughts turn towards the question of what am I going to be this year? That’s right the age-old Halloween costume question. Each and every year the choices get hard, but that’s just because every year there seems to be more and more to choose from.
Are you going to go as a super hero, a monster, a movie or TV character, a historical figure or as something silly? I usually opt for the TV or movie costumes myself and then I usually stick with something from a sci-fi or horror film. In the past I have been Freddy Kruger, a Borg, a frozen victim of the Titanic, the Skipper from Gilligan’s Island, Dracula, Spock, Captain Picard, Jack the Ripper, and Winnie the Pooh (nothing too scary there).
I am still trying to figure out this year’s outfit, but I am I just don’t know if I am going to be on my own (if that’s the case I’ll get that cool Predator costume pictured above) or if we are doing the couple thing again this year. If we do the couple costumes thing, I guess my other half could be an Alien and we could reenact AVP.
If I could talk a few friends into it we would get the Rocky Horror Picture Show costumes I found at Halloween Adventure. I just don’t know who I could convince to be Frank-n-furter so that is probably out. Back in the day when we were going every week to see RHPS we would have loved to have had ready made halloween costumes to buy.
Halloween Adventure has a costume for you. Head over to their site to read their blog ( http://blog.halloweenadventure.com ) for news and information about the costume industry. Go buy your costumes before October 10th, 2008 and get 5% off when you use Coupon Code: PPP05BLOG2008. Happy Halloween everyone.
