I love robots and I love Lego. So what better combo for me than a Lego Robot? I have the first version of the Mondstorms system and really need to get myself the new one. I love the new functionality and the new look (not such a fan of the technic sets so I was disappointed when this was first announced, but I guess there is only so much one can do with the good ole brick).

The Telectroscope is an art project on a transatlantic scale. This huge interactive piece will be up in New York and London now through June 15th. Shame that it will only be available for such a short time, something this amazing should be in place all year long.
The artist’s site tells us that “more than a century after it was begun, the tunnel has finally been completed. An extraordinary optical device called a Telectroscope has been installed at both ends which miraculously allows people to see right through the Earth from London to New York and vice versa.”
For more information check out artist Paul St. George’s Telectroscope website.

I justed happened across this video this morning while I was avoiding going to the hospital for my tests (still dealing with that accident six months ago). Any who, this video shows some very, very cool artwork done on sidewalks with chalk (unbelievable stuff with such depth and dimension you wish it were permanent) and sand sculptures like I have never seen before (again wish these were made of stone). Well enjoy this video and let me know which piece is your favorite.

Kelly McGillis is slated to teach an acting class here in Reading at the Community School of Music and the Arts. According to Phylllis McLaughlin, executive director of the school, McGillis will teach an eight-week summer acting workshop.
The workshop will begin on June 18th and will run from 6pm to 9pm every Wednesday for eight weeks. Only 20 people will be able to benefit from Kelly’s acting expertise. The cost of the acting classes is about $400 per person.
The Community School of Music and the Arts was founded more than 50 years ago by Werner von Trapp of the von Trapp Family Singers. You know them as the family from the film The Sound of Music. Pretty cool, huh?

This is part two of my article on making money from your blog or website. In the first part we focused on writing. And not everyone likes to write or wants to write. For these people their are alternatives to the standard blog.
You can try your hand at video blogs. Tape yourself and your friends [get their permission to post it first though] talking about your favorite shows, movies, books, games, toys…whatever. Then upload these to YouTube.com. Once you have the video ready simply post that in your blog and your done. But if you want to make some money for your efforts add affiliate links to the related items in that same post.
Another creative way of making money is to sign up for CafePress.com and create and sell items from your designs right from your site. So dig out those great photos from your trip and make a calendar then offer it to the world via your blog which talks all about that trip. The possibilities are endless.

This film which is very loosely based on Diane Arbus is pure fantasy. The title an imaginary portrait does not even begin to touch on how imaginary this really is.
As one reviewer put it, this is “a modern day beauty and the beast”. Nicole Kidman does a nice job. Even if it is very similar to all the parts she has been playing lately.
If you want to know about the artist do not watch this movie. If you want to spend two hours watching a fairy tale this is for you.
As a photographer and fan of Diane Arbus I was really looking forward to this film and when I finally saw it I was less than impressed.

A few good resources for info on Diane Arbus can be found at these websites:
