GLEE SEASON 2 DVD STRIKES A CHORD WITH “GIVE A NOTE” CAMPAIGN, $1 MILLION DONATION TO HELP SAVE ARTS PROGRAMS IN SCHOOLS

LOS ANGELES (Sept. 13, 2011) – Jane Lynch has revved up her megaphone to tout the benefits of arts education is schools, starring in a public service announcement (PSA) that debuts tonight at 8:45pm Eastern Standard Time on the Fox Network’s “GLEE” program. It’s the centerpiece of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment’s campaign to donate $1 million to arts education around the country and Lynch is the featured spokesperson as the harsh and witty cheer coach, “Sue Sylvester.” Beyond “GLEE,” the PSA is expected to air on television and cable stations across the country.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment (TCFHE) and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) have teamed up for “GLEE Give a Note,” a campaign to donate $1 million to school arts programs across the country. Eligible high schools are invited to submit videos about why their school deserves a grant at www.GleeGiveANote.com. In December 2011, after two rounds of voting, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will name the 73 schools that will receive grants ranging from $10,000 to $50,000.

TV’s musical sensation, “GLEE” THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON comes to Blu-ray and DVD September 13th from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment packed with all 22 episodes and never-before-seen bonus features sure to incite fans everywhere to “Gleek Out.”

GLEE is a biting musical comedy about a group of eager and ambitious students who strive to outshine their singing competition to win Nationals while navigating the cruel halls of McKinley High, garnering an incredible 19 Emmy nominations – earning it the distinction of being the most-nominated series of the year – and four Emmy Awards.

If you have not seen this PSA it is hilarious and has an excellent message! If we enjoy shows like GLEE why are we allowing our public school systems across the country to kill the arts programs? Without the school arts programs we would have no GLEE. Please support them in their efforts to keep the arts in schools!

So I was over on Marvel.com checking for information on upcoming Marvel movies and the ad running on almost ALL pages was an ad for the new DC Comics animated Wonder Woman movie (I will of course be getting this film when it comes out on Tuesday).

But why is it popping up on Marvel.com? I guess an advertisement is an advertisement even if it is for the competition.

In honor of National Coming Out Day (which is today by the way) I am watching Troma Films CRAZED. It is supposedly Kathy Bach (aka Daisy Dukes) only lesbian film. But like all Troma films it is totally whacked.

The synopsis from the Troma Entertainment website: The Troma Team is proud to present Crazed, a spine-tingling suspense thriller that plunges into the darkest depths of dementia.

Nicole (the legendary Leslie Caron, An American in Paris, Gigi), a reclusive widow who lives alone in her mansion with only her housemaids and butlers to keep her company, leads a decadent and lustful life. Using her voluptuous body and her vast fortune to manipulate those around her, Nicole is obsessed with controlling all the people in her life. When she finds love with a dashing suitor (Ramon Bieri, Sorcerer) and a friendship with a beautiful young aspiring dancer (Catherine Bach, “The Dukes of Hazzard”), Nicole begins to change for the better… until she suspects her new love may be cheating on her. Sanity takes a backseat and the blood begins to spill as Nicole slips into an alternate reality of violence, sex and paranoia.

Featuring Catherine Bach’s only nude scenes, Crazed is a deranged shocker which will leave you damaged.

Worst movie ever, even by Troma’s standards!

Mad Max (not The Road Warrior) but the actual Australian un-dubbed version is currently playing on my TV. At first I was wondering why they dubbed his voice at all because the accent really isn’t that bad. But as the film progresses Mel’s voice gets quieter and he is a bit of a mumbly mouth too.

So I guess that might be the real reason they dubbed the voices and not really because of the Aussie accent. Then I find myself asking why is this film such a classic? It really isn’t very good. In fact you could cut the first hour and not miss a thing.

28 Weeks Later Very Weak

Watched the movie 28 Weeks Later the other day even though I really did not like the first film. The first film, 28 Days Later,Â was much better than the second one and that still isnâ€™t saying too much. Both films spend far too much time showing us shots of an empty London and never bother to give us any real action or even much of a plot. Sad, it had some potential to add new lure to the zombie genre but both fell short. I should of listened to my instincts and stayed away from this film, but I was bored. Not that this film helped that at all.
