Valentine’s Day is almost over but if you are in California you still have a few hours to go take a Valentines Day Cruise San Diego. San Diego is quite a beautiful city. If you have never been you really should go some time.

It is a very romantic town. I think it would be a great place for a wedding. Yes, San Diego Weddings could be very romantic indeed. You could combine your wedding and honeymoon into one sweet trip. Heck, you could even do a San Diego Cruise Wedding. Having a ceremony out on a boat off the coast of California, especially at sunset, what could be more romantic?

Perhaps Valentine’s Day just has me in a lovey, romantic mood and that’s why all the talk of weddings. You don’t have to be getting married to enjoy a cruise in San Diego. You could go whale watching or enjoy a dinner cruise along the coast of southern California. You could just go out and party on what my sister calls a booze cruise for some fun. She took one of the dinner/party cruises when she lived in San Diego with her husband who was in the Navy at the time. Our Aunt and Uncle went out to visit her while he was on his ship and they took one of the cruises and had so much fun that they still talk about it to this very day.

Why settle for a tiny little hotel room when you could stay in a cool vacation rental?

Heck you could even get luxury vacation rentals for the same cost as most hotels. Why would anyone stay in a cramped room when there are so many vacation rentals out there? Wouldn’t you have more fun in a big roomy house than in a cramped little room? I know I would!

So next time you’re thinking of booking just a room for your holiday maybe you should consider spending it in one of these sweet vacation homes.

When the weather gets warmer and school’s out American’s head out to the waterways. Each year there are numerous accidents and even deaths caused by inexperienced boaters and in appropriate behavior on our nations waterways. Fortunately fatal boating accidents were down last year, but incidents of accidents, injuries and property damage were all up in 2007. It is not surprising to learn that this increase was due to operators not paying attention, careless and reckless behavior, speeding and alcohol use. One third of the accidents nationwide with a death involved were due to alcohol use. In Arizona alone 50% of the fatal boating accidents were alcohol related, unbelievable.

To reduce those numbers all it would take is a little common sense and some basic boating knowledge. Use your head when hitting the water. Why not check out someboating education online before heading to the dock? Above all avoid operating a boat under the influence you’ll be glad you played it safe. Boating while under the influence is just as illegal as it is while driving so why even chance it?

Arizona boating can offer lots of summertime fun if you simply follow the rules.

Texas is a big state with lots of things to do. I am not sure one visit would be enough. I luckily have friends who live in different areas of the state so I should be able to plan several trips to get the most out of the state especially when it comes to making plans to visit my friends in Houston.

I just came across this beautiful historic site, W.H. Stark House that I have to fit into one of the trips even if it is on the wrong side of the state, but thank goodness for those friends in Houston. It is a huge Victorian home turned into a museum located in the City of Orange about 120 miles east of Houston. I absolutely love the Victorian time period. Not that I would have wanted to be a female back in those days as I am certainly not into wearing all the dresses and lace, but I can appreciate the beauty of it all.

Lately I have been really getting into the whole steampunk scene too and this place fits that bill to a tee. Just seeing the outside of this place makes me want to go. It is huge and gorgeous! The folks that built it, William Henry Stark and Miriam Melissa Lutcher Stark, were avid collectors. And we all know collecting is an obsession and not just a hobby. You have got to see the stuff they have online and that is only a small portion of the entire collection on view at the W.H. Stark House.

They even have a bronze death mask of Napoleon Bonaparte. This is right up my morbid little alley. Besides that there is other artwork, beautiful vintage household items (that only the rich then and now could ever hope to own) and not to be missed is the wonderfully steampunk 1909 Hupmobile Roadster. What an amazing looking automobile. What H. G. Wells or Jules Verne fan wouldn’t want to have that vehicle?

While the online images of this place are beyond amazing I truly do suggest that anyone near this place goes there.
