Tired of DRM (digital rights management) controlling how and where you use the ebooks you have purchased with your own hard earned money? You need DRM removal software.
Don’t get me wrong I love my Kindle. In fact I am on my second Kindle after upgrading from my Kindle Keyboard to a Paperwhite (I wanted that back lit screen). What I don’t like is that Amazon has complete control of my eBook library (well only my Kindle books purchased via Amazon, but that is the majority of my library). I want to keep a complete backup of my books on one hard drive (well two need a backup of the backup after I recently lost all of my audio files due to a hard drive failure). I want to be able to use my files on any device without being locked into additional software to read the DRM. What if I want to (god forbid) change to a totally different reader and need to convert my books to a different file format? That’s where Epubor Ultimate comes in to save the day.
Seriously, Epubor is a godsend. It is so easy to use and does exactly what it promises. Removes the DRM from your Kindle, Adobe Digital, Nook, or other files. For the most part it is as easy as dragging and dropping the files into the software. I had a few books that I had to open in Kindle for PC before I could remove the DRM, but my understanding is that Epubor has since removed those extra hoops you had to jump through.
For your Kindle files you can go to content and devices on Amzon.com and download your files to your PC and simply drag the files into Epubor and BOOM they will be decrypted (no more DRM). Or you can plug in your ereader into your computer and the software will give you a list of files on your device. Then all you need to do is drag them within the software.
Once your files are decrypted you can then convert your ebooks into other files formats. The Epubor site says in two clicks, but it is actually three. Click the arrow, choose the file format, and click the convert button. See three clicks (but if your format is already selected it is only one click!
Input formats: KFX, EPUB, PDF, AZW, AZW1, AZW3, AZW4, Mobi, PRC, TPZ, Topaz, TXT, and HTML
Output (conversion) formats: EPUB, Mobi, AZW3, TXT, and PDF
As you can see by the image above, my book did not not have a book cover. Not a problem. You can edit all the meta information for the eBook from within the Epubor software. Just right click on the book and choose edit meta.
Then in the edit window you can change the title, author, identifiers (UPC or ASIN numbers), date, language, publishers, and cover. Click finished and your done. Files are now ready for use in other readers and different platforms. (Suggest editing the meta data before converting to other file formats.)
Don’t believe how easy it is to take control of your ebook files? Head over to Epubor and download the free trial. Once you do you will be happy to hand over your money. I recommend getting the lifetime license. It will only cost you $49.99. You won’t regret it.
Epubor doesn’t just offer DRM removal they have additional software for Audible Converter and eBook Manager, both of which I have yet to try but are on both on my to-do list. Especially the Audible Converter. Along with their software their site is full of helpful tips for any bibliophile.
Epubor has software for DRM removal for your purchased books for greater control over your library of eBooks. Free trial, yearly or lifetime licensing options that are worth way more than they cost.
